Sentiero della Bonifica

The sentiero della Bonifica is now a two-way cycling and pedestrian dirt track, covering 62 kilometres with a modest gradient. It follows an old road used for maintenance work on the Canale Maestro of the Chiana, an artificial canal created during the great clear-up of Val di Chiana in the 18th-19th century which runs along the banks between the cities of Arezzo and Chiusi. There are lots of noteworthy places of interest to be seen along its path, starting from Arezzo, including Lake Montepulciano and Lake Chiusi.
